Festive Friday

Yes I know I've missed a few weeks but things have been very hectic around here........... today I'm going to share with you the cards that Frank did for his convention swaps using the stamp set Festival of Trees and Gorgeous Grunge.

Yes he had his own swaps!! made with his own fair hands and a little help, he didn't realize how popular he would be (as only a few men attend and the ladies tend to make a bee line for them first) and ran out of them very quickly.

I'll be back to share my swaps with you next week, until then Happy Stampin'

Today I'm going to share with you some of the pictures I took whilst sight seeing  around Brussels and some of the Convention itself..............maybe it might tempt you to sign up as a demonstrator and join us there next year???

I'm just loving the stamp set Four Feathers which was one of the All attendee give aways along with the matching framelits.......

so be sure to pop back next we when I'll share with you some of the projects I've made for this weekends Craft Show.

Missing in action

Sorry it's been rather quiet on here  just recently ladies  and gentlemen,  but I've been really busy decorating. The roof is finally fixed after 6 months and we've had to replace the ceiling in one room, its been a nightmare and preparing for this year's Stampin' Up! Convention which starts on Thursday!

I've managed to get about 100 swaps finised and Frank has done about 60....he's really getting into the spirit of it.

We are really excited as we're heading off a few days earlier to get some sightseeing in as we've not visited Brussels before.

The picture above is from my last all day class using Kinda Electic stampset which is just one of the stamp sets that all this year's convention attendees will receive.

I'll hopefully be back later in the week to share with you some of the sights from Brussels and snippets from convention until then

Festive Friday

Time ran away with my yesterday so all be it a day late I'm going to share with you my Festive Friday card!!

This is one of the cards we did at my Kinda Electic all day workshop last month, one of my ladies was particular pleased as she wanted to get cracking with her Christmas cards.

I didn't realize at first that the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty butterfly punches co-ordinated with this stamp set, yes I know I should study my catalogue more, but I'd rather play...LOL

As its World Card Making Day today, I'm going to play with my Serene Silhouette stamp set as its been neglected recently as I'm busy preparing for my upcoming Christmas all day work, (please contact me for more details as spaces are limited)

Which stamp set or sets are you going to play with today?

Don't forget about Stampin' Up!s Stamp, Stock and Save offer! for my customer's I'm offering free delivery to your address with orders over £45 or collected from me.

Masculine Monday

Masculine Monday has been missing the past few weeks as lots of different things have been happening here but I'm hoping things are calming down and I can get back to my normal postings......

Today's card is a technique that I shared with my ladies at class showing them that you can use embossing folders for printing with and not just embossing through a big shot or similar machine.

Here I inked up one side of the embossing folder with ink before pressing down on to a piece of card stock to print the image.....its really simple and great fun - well I love messy me!!

I also need a man's thank you card too, so just swapped the sentiment.

Catch you later in the week

Scrapbookin' On Sunday

A quick post today sharing another layout using the Flashback DSP.

When I saw this layout* I knew exactly which photographs I wanted use. They are of Heidi taken back in 2009 when we visited the Beatles museum in Liverpool. Unfortunately I was really ill so we had to cut short our break and are hoping to return in the not to distant future.

Next week I'll share with you another layout using the Flashback DSP

*This was a layout that was designed by another demonstrator and offered as a class at the retreat that I went to back in the summer.

Festive Friday

As I promised last week I'd be back this week with another Festive Friday post this week using another stamp set from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue called Endless Wishes.

This stamp set was released a few years ago in the USA and retired, but through popular demand it has made a return this year and as the catalogues are now on a par we are lucky to get it this time too!!

Here I have teamed it up with the Merry Christmas sentiment from Sassy Salutations and used Chocolate Chip ink and card stock. The ribbon is the Gold double satin from the annual catalogue, I'm not a gold girl but this is really lush.

The Curvy Keepsake box has been embossed in gold........

Next week I'll be back to share with you another card made with ???? you'll have to pop back and see what I've been playing with.

Meanwhile

Scrapbookin' On Sunday

Last week I showed you a couple of sneak peaks from this months club kit using the Flashback DSP - well here is the  layout in full of one of them (pop back next week for the other one)

One of my customers showed me this layout on the net and I just had to scraplift it...although all the punching and inking took time I'm really pleased with the way it turned out and will do it again with other papers.

But I do advise you that you use a wet glue if you're going to  scrap lift it as it will give you movability with the punched shapes.

Have a great Sunday whatever you're up to, me I'm chilling with my hubby.

Masculine Monday

Today I'm going to share with you a card that I made for a swap over on ILWS (In Love With Stampin) where lots of demonstrators hang out and also share ideas  and tips with each other. This month the theme was "one for the men/boys"

I chose to use the new Traveler stamp set and came up with this creation.

The background is made using the Dictionary stamp and I have aged it not only by inking the edges but by removing some of the ink on the text... not sure whether this is shows in the photo very well.

Next week I'll share with you a couple of the swaps that I received in return so be sure to pop back.

Next week I'll be back with another layout that we did. remember if you aren't able to attend in person the kits are available by post, next month we will be using the Flashback DSP.

WOYWW 273

I've been really busy this past month with all my birthday celebrations and havent managed to squeeze a woyww in,  but this week sees me taking some time out and chilling at my brothers.

Here you can see that I brought along  some  images and my promarker pens to play with. I haven't played with my promarkers for a while and I'm finding it very relaxing. I bought along a stash of dsp so that I coloured my images to co ordinate with rathèr than clash which is my usual error (colouring and not thinking what finished image will go with). Looks like I'll have a few cards to make up when I go back home at the weekend.

If your not what WOYWW is all about then pop on over to Julia's blog and find out all the info.  Me I'm going to chill some more today and whilst I do that I'll be sure to be nosing around a few desks as well.

Masculine Monday

For this week's Masculine Monday's post I'm going to share with you one of the make and takes that the ladies did at my event this weekend.

I host a monthly crop and as it's my  big birthday, I arranged for them to play some party games and some make and takes using a selection of products in the current catalogue and of course a sneak peak of somethings from the upcoming Autumn/Winter Catalogue.

This card uses the longest remaining stamp set in the annual catalogue - Lovely as a Tree (I've been a demonstrator for 5 years and its been in there since then) and a sentiment from the Something to Say stamp set.

Here's a picture of the ladies busy crafting and a group one of us having fun!!

Scrapbookin' On Sunday

As I mentioned last week I was away at a crafting retreat.........it was a great laugh, 20 plus ladies in a dorm and on Saturday I  did an all nighter!!

In total I managed to complete 10 layouts some where couple where double pages and project life. We had some fun challenges as well and at the end of the weekend we were all presented with a certificate and medal

This is one of the pages that I that I did whilst at the retreat, I decided that I would try and use up some of my non  SU stash,  I can't believe how much I have still.

I also tried to make sure that on each page that I completed I either put a title or at least did some journaling.

I just love this photo of Lucy kissing the fish she caught. right i'm off to pack the kits for next week's class, there is still one available if your interested we're using the flower pot dsp.
